Woodland is a city in both Clark and Cowlitz counties; most residents live within Cowlitz County, which is the majority of the city. Incorporated in 1906, the City of Woodland, located 20 miles north of Vancouver is the southern gateway to Mt. St. Helens. The growing community is located at the junction of I-5 and Highway 503. Woodland is home of the famous Hulda Klager Lilac Garden and the annual celebration of The Lilac Festival. From the last week of April through the first week of May, the Klager Museum is open to the public. Woodland is also known for Planter's Days, a celebration of pageant that commences with the coronation of a Planter's Day Queen.
